EFA explains its strategy: reach instead of paywall
The EFA is deliberately choosing broad access at the start of its first season. YouTube is intended to build reach, trust and visibility.
YouTube as the key to visibility
The European Football Alliance is deliberately starting its first season with a low barrier for fans. Instead of putting games behind a paywall, the league is taking the route via YouTube, social media and freely accessible content.
The goal is to build trust, create reach and bring new viewers to European football as easily as possible.
Reach comes first
The approach is exciting: do not charge first, but build reach first. Do not lock fans out, bring them in.
At the same time, the door remains open for additional TV and streaming partners. Sportdigital1+ will also show one top game live on TV each week.
Free access can be a major advantage at the beginning. The EFA wants to be seen.
