Vikings make the first AFLE statement

The Vienna Vikings opened the new American Football League Europe with a dominant 49–7 win over Berlin Thunder.

In front of around 4,000 fans, Vienna controlled the game on both sides of the ball. Berlin started with a solid opening drive but struggled to match the Vikings’ physicality and structure after that.

Efficient offense, dominant defense

Ben Holmes led the offense with control, while Karri Pajarinen and Albert Wiesigstrauch produced key plays. Defensively, Alejandro Fernandez stood out with heavy pressure and multiple sacks.

Vienna did not just win the first AFLE game. The Vikings immediately showed that they belong in the title conversation.
